Privacy policy
Last updated 16 October 2026. Wots Office is a small studio in Auckland, New Zealand. This page explains what personal information we handle and what we do with it, in plain English.
What we collect
This website has no forms, no accounts, no cookies and no analytics. We only receive personal information when you give it to us, for example:
- Details you send in an email or message, such as your name, email address, phone number, business name and what you'd like built.
- Details you give us if you reply to one of our ads or contact us through social media, such as Facebook or Instagram.
- Details we need to run a project or invoice you, if you become a client.
How we use it
We use your information to reply to your enquiry, prepare a website preview or quote, deliver and support the work you ask for, send invoices, and meet our legal and tax obligations. We only contact you about things you've asked about, and we don't send mass marketing without your consent.
Advertising
We may advertise on Meta platforms (Facebook and Instagram). If you see or click one of our ads, Meta collects and uses your information under its own privacy policy, and you can control ad settings in your Meta account. We receive only aggregated results from Meta, such as how many people saw or clicked an ad. If you send us a message through Meta, we see what you send and your public profile name.
This website does not currently use the Meta Pixel or other advertising trackers. If that changes, we'll update this policy first.
Who we share it with
We don't sell your information. We use a small number of service providers to run the business, such as email, website hosting (Cloudflare), and payment and accounting tools. They handle information only to provide their service to us. Some of them store data outside New Zealand, including in the United States. We may also disclose information if the law requires it.
Hosting logs
Our hosting provider, Cloudflare, may keep standard technical logs of visits, such as IP address, browser and pages requested, for security and reliability. We don't use these logs to identify you.
How long we keep it
We keep enquiry emails for as long as they're useful to the conversation, and client records for as long as we need them for the work and for tax and accounting purposes (generally seven years). After that we delete them.
Security
We take reasonable steps to protect your information from loss, misuse and unauthorised access. No method of transmission over the internet is completely secure, so we can't promise absolute security.
Your rights
Under the New Zealand Privacy Act 2020 you can ask us to tell you what personal information we hold about you, and to correct it. You can also ask us to delete it, and we'll do so unless we need to keep it by law. Email us at [email protected]. If you're not happy with how we've handled a request, you can complain to the Office of the Privacy Commissioner.
Changes
We may update this policy from time to time. The date at the top shows when it last changed.
